Four Divisions Ready to Shine this Saturday

Marysville, CA (May 15, 2019) – Four divisions are planned to entertain the grandstand crowd this Saturday night, May 18th. The four divisions will feature the Vintage Hardtops, winged 360 sprint cars, IMCA Pepsi Sport Mods and Super Stocks. This is one night you won’t want to miss.
The pit gate will open at 3 PM while the front grandstand gate opens at 5 PM. Race cars on the track at 6 PM.
Adult admission into the grandstands is $13.00. Juniors, seniors and military with ID are just $11.00. Kids 6-11 are $6 and five and under are FREE. A family pass for $40 gets two adults and two juniors or three kids 11 and under into the grandstands. As always, parking is FREE.
On a side note, the October 11th and 12th Monster Truck show has been moved to Eureka, CA. It will still be promoted by Dennis Gage and more details will be released later.
Yuba City’s Korey Lovell closed in on Chico’s Michael Ing for the top spot in the winged 360 sprint car point standings. Lovell finished fifth this past Saturday night in the main event, while Ing was involved in a roll over and was unable to continue. Steel Powell shocked the sprint car racing community by winning the 25-lap feature event in only his fifth career start.
This Saturday will mark the third Pepsi IMCA Sport Mod
\ event on 2019. Keith Brown and Todd Cooper are the two previous winners. Brown is tied with Guy Ahlwardt for the point lead. Cooper sits third, one point back of those top two.
Live Oaks Matt Micheli leads the Super Stock division by four points over Richard Vander Ploeg. Brent Lawrence sits in the third spot. Ryan McDaniel leads the way with two wins, while Micheli has the other one. Jerry Bartlett and James Castleberry will look to pick up their first win of the season.
Vintage Hardtops are on the schedule for this weekend. This fun group of traveling racers allow the fans to peek at what racing looked like in its golden days.
Should be a great show this Saturday night. Hope to see a lot of familiar faces.
