Wild Wednesday Brings Out the Stars

Wild Wednesday Brings Out the Stars
(Marysville, CA 7/05/20)…The sights and sounds of grass roots dirt track racing returns to Marysville Raceway this Wednesday night, July 8th, with a surplus of scheduled stars and cars. A strong four division show will feature the winged 360 sprint cars, IMCA sport Mods, Limited Late Models and Dwarf Cars.
Once again, the Raceway has been given permission to allow the first 100 fans into the main grandstands on this night. The front gate will open at 6 PM. Once the 100-person quota has been filled, the Raceway will stop allowing more fans in.
Thanks to the generous support from our on-line streaming partners Speed Shift Tv and FloRacing, the Wild Wednesday race will offer a full purse once again to the competitors. The Wild Wednesday race is available to simulcast on both www.speedshifttv.com and www.FloRacing.com. Please visit those websites for more details on how to order this event. The streaming services are the best way to catch the action while not being able to get to the track in person.
The winged 360 sprint cars will be led by Auburn’s Andy Forsberg. Close on his heels are two drivers from Chico. Michael Ing and Brad Bumgarner sit second and third in the points. Alec Justeson and Blake Carrick round out the top five. Joining this fearsome five is Roseville’ Sean Becker in the Dan Monhoff No. 88. Also scheduled to appear is the most recent main event winner, Fremont’s Shane Golobic in his Matt Wood Racing No. 17w.
The always entertaining IMCA Sport Mods will hit the track for the fourth time in 2020. Scott Savell leads a talented group of drivers. In fact, the top five is only separated by 7-points. Timothy Allerdings, Jimmy Ford, Phillip Shelby, and Shawn Smith are all vying for the top spot.
One of the true surprises this season has been the emergence of the Limit Late Models. This group offers a close-knit racing family and provides some great on track racing. It will be a pleasure to watch these warriors battle it out again on the tricky Marysville Raceway surface.
The traveling Nor-Cal Dwarf cars are the fourth group this Wednesday night. Often these drivers put on a show that leaves everyone speechless. We are excited to host this group of drivers once again.
The departure from the normal Saturday night program was forced by the need for financial support from television. So, with TV paying some of the bills the track moved to a Wednesday night since the pay per view audience is lacking options mid-week. When a reasonable fan base allowed the track will return to Saturday nights.
Pit gate for the competitors will open at the normal time, 3 PM. The grandstands will not open until 6 and most likely be closed by 6:30. No in and out privileges will be allowed as the gates will be closed to all but exiting spectators. Social distancing will be required, and fans should have a face mask. Adult tickets are $17, Junior and Senior $14 and kids $6.
Information is available at the track website at www.marysvilleraceway.com or at 530-350-7275.
