Winters, Olschowka, and Badeker Win Nationals
The Nor-Cal Dwarf Car Association presented the 26th Western States Dwarf Car Association Nationals at Marysville Raceway this past weekend on September 24th & 25th. On Friday night, 109 competitors signed in to tackle the Action Track of the West. Saturday saw 107 drivers return and go for the title, National’s winner. Twenty-four stars and cars started the 30-lap Pro Division main event. In the end, Ryan Winter was too tough for the field and won a popular Nationals win. Winter continues to be one of the all-time best when it comes to Dwarf Car racing. Buddy Olschowka provided the biggest highlights of the evening by winning the 20-lap spectacular Veterans main event. Olschowka made a late race pass for the win to thrill the packed grandstand crowd. Jace Badeker was also just as impressive. Jace drove a smart race in the Sportsman 20-lap main event. Badeker waited to take advantage of other driver’s mistakes to get the Nationals win.
The Saturday night racing saw multiple heat races for each division. The Fast Dashes were thrilling events. They featured the top 10 drivers from the previous nights A main events. For full results please visit https://speedhive.mylaps.com/Events/1919850
On Friday night the Raceway kicked things off with a full night of racing to entertain the local fans. Danny Wagner was impressive in winning the Pro Division feature. Carroll Mendenhall drove a solid race to capture the win in the Veteran division. Oregon’s Dave Brune was the winner during the Sportsman feature.
The Nationals started on Thursday with a practice night of racing. The Nor-Cal Dwarf Car Association does an amazing job of hosting this event. They plan pre- and post-race activities that makes this event so popular within the Dwarf Car enthusiasts. All in all, what a great three day and night event. Everyone involved should be commended for a great event.
