Four Divisions Back in Action at Marysville This Saturday Night

Marysville, CA (March 11, 2015) – Grassroots open-wheel auto racing returns to the Marysville Raceway dirt track this Saturday night March 14 as the annual Spring Gold Fever Sprint Car Open is on the schedule. Open-wheel fans will be treated to four separate divisions of sprint cars. The powerful winged 360 sprint cars lead the charge into Marysville this Saturday night with $2,000 on the line to the winner. This is the second event of the year at Marysville for the winged warriors. The season kicked off two weeks prior with the running of the Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial.
Joining the winged sprint cars are the wingless sprints, economy sprints and Pro 4 Sprints. This race also marks the second appearance of the season for the wingless sprints. The economy sprints and Pro 4 Sprints will make their maiden voyages of 2015.
The pit gate will open at 3 P.M. while the front grandstand gate will open at 5 P.M. Qualifying for the winged sprint cars will begin at 6 P.M. with racing to follow. General grandstand admission to this event is $15.00 for adults, $13.00 for juniors and seniors, military or disabled. Children, ages 6 to 11, are $6.00. Five and under are free.
Opening night winner Justin Sanders is set to go this weekend after competing both nights during the Silver Cup at Chico. Sanders earned the popular win on February 28th during the Toller Memorial. Auburn’s Andy Forsberg, who won last Friday night at Chico, is always a driver to watch. Chico’s Brad Bumgarner is reporting that he will be ready for Saturday’s race. Other drivers who have started strong this season and we hope to see are Sacramento’s Willie Croft, Rio Linda’s Cody Lamar and Princeton’s Mason Moore. While no sprint car driver can win the $10,000 pick six bonus, offered by promoter Dennis Gage, there is still a possibility for Sanders or Forsberg to win the next three races and earn an extra $3,000 bonus.
Sebastopol’s Geoff Ensign won the previous wingless race at Marysville. Defending track champion Tim Sherman Jr., local favorite Misty Castleberry and Josh Vieira all are vying to park their car in victory lane.
Fans will get a chance to see the economy sprints for the first time. These cars are a version of the winged 360 division without all the horsepower. These cars have had success running in Chico and will be a part of the Marysville track in 2015. The Pro 4 division has been a mainstay at Marysville over the years and will continue to offer close, competitive racing.
