Round Number Two Set For This Saturday

Marysville, CA (April 15, 2015) – Dirt track auto racing at Marysville Raceway resumes this Saturday night, April 18, with five different divisions of cars set to battle it out around the quarter-mile clay oval. With this past Saturday night off, both the drivers and fans are eager to get back to their weekly home for grass roots racing. The five divisions include the winged 360 sprints, wingless sprints, super stocks, mini stocks and Pro 4 Sprints. 

The pit gate will open at 3 P.M. while the front grandstand gate will open at 5 P.M. Qualifying for the winged sprint cars will begin at 6 P.M. with racing to follow. General grandstand admission to this event is $12.00 for adults, $9.00 for juniors and seniors, military or disabled. Children, ages 6 to 11, are $6.00. Five and under are free. Colfax driver Colby Wiesz looks to go for win number two this weekend. Wiesz picked up his 55th career win at Marysville last time the winged 360 sprints hit the track. This past Saturday night, Wiesz scored the win at Placerville Speedway. Standing in his way will be Watsonville’s Justin Sanders and Chico’s Brad Bumgarner, Yuba City’s Korey Lovell and Grass Valley’s Jeremy Burt. All of these drivers are capable of holding the winning trophy at the end of the night. 

Two weeks ago James Foster crossed the checkered flag first during the Mini Stock main event; however, during post race inspection his car was ruled to be illegal, thus, giving the win to second place finisher Jimmy Ford. Later that night, the ruling was reversed and Foster was given the win back. It was a confusing situation at the time but since then it has been resolved. Foster will go for his second win this Saturday night. 

The wingless sprints will hit the track for the third time this season at Marysville. The Pro 4 Sprints are getting their fourth chance to race in 2015. 

It is rumored that The General, Jerry Bartlett, is scheduled to appear this Saturday night driving in the Super Stock division. Bartlett is the self-proclaimed best Super Stock driver in the Nation and will look to prove his worth this weekend. This is the first appearance of the Super Stocks this year.
