It’s a Sweep for Nor Cal

Nor Cal Dwarf Cars Sweep Opening Night
(Marysville, CA 9/22/23)…The Nor Cal Dwarf Cars were well represented Friday night during the opening night of racing during the 28th Western States Dwarf Car Association at Marysville Raceway. With 105 recorded entries, the pit area was packed with some of the best Dwarf Car drivers in the Western United States. A total of seven different states were represented during night one of the two-day show. In the end, it was a Northern California romp, as all three main event winners represented the Nor Cal Dwarf Car Association.
Winning the Sportsman division was Lincoln, CA driver Brendon Shrum. This marked his third overall win in 2023. Placerville, CA driver Mike Reeder earned a hard-fought win during the 20-lap Veteran feature event. This was Mike’s fifth win of the season. Not only did the Nor Cal Dwarf Car Association dominate the wins, but two of the three winners are related. Dylan Shrum advanced three spots to win the Pro Division main event. The win was Shrum’s fifth of the season.
Saturday night’s program will include heat races, preliminary main events, three fast dashes and three feature events. The main purpose of the racing tonight was for drivers to finish in the top 10 of each main event to secure a starting spot in tonight’s dashes.
Racing is set to kick off around 5 PM tonight. Tickets can be purchased online or at the ticket booth. If you can’t make it, the streaming service of SpeedUnionTv.com will give you the best seat in the house.
