Destruction Derby Added to Marysville Raceway Schedule
RACEWAY DESTRUCTION DERBY SCHEDULED
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Marysville CA 9/29/2023) For more than 60 years Marysville Raceway has provided a motorsports venue for the Yuba Sutter area. That tradition had been expanded with the addition of a Destruction Derby on Saturday afternoon October 14.
“We don’t know when the last Destruction Derby was held at the Raceway,” explained track manager Dennis Gage. “We’ve found a mix of events pleases the local fan,” He continued. “These local derby teams need a place to run out their 2023 Derby cars and we have the perfect setting for that here in Marysville,” Gage concluded.
The Derby pit gate will open at 8 am on the 14th while the spectator gate will open at 2 pm. The event gets underway at 3 pm. Spectator tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for juniors and seniors, and $8 for kids. Discounted tickets are also available online at Marysvilleraceway.com.
The derby will consist of a series of heat races and main events for full size cars and trucks. The number of entries will govern the total events. The last car running in each event will get a portion of the prize money up for grabs that day. Rules, information, and entries may be obtained from 209-566-4280.
Pit passes will be $30.
While the 2023 race schedule is mostly complete this addition to the post season special events augments already planned dates. Special Sprint car races will be held September 30 and October 28 while the October 14 addition provides three straight weeks of entertainment late in the year.
The Raceway has also been the site for concerts, media days, celebrations, and charity events. Full support services including management, entertainment, food, and drink. Equipment is available as well for track preparation and other key operations.
