Back to Business at Marysville
Marysville, CA (April 12, 2016)…After two consecutive weekends off, the roar of grass roots auto racing returns to the quarter-mile clay oval raceway this Saturday night. Five big time divisions are scheduled to attack the beautifully manicured Marysville Raceway. The winged 360 sprints, wingless sprints, IMCA Sport Modifieds, super stocks and Pro 4 Sprints are all slated to entertain the capacity crowd expected for this Saturday nights race.
Saturday night general admission is $13.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors and juniors and military with I.D. Children ages 6 – 11 are $6.00 while kids five and under are free. Pit gate opens at 3 PM with the front gate opening at 5 PM. Family pass is available for $45.00 and includes two adult tickets and three kids 11 and under. Winged sprint car qualifying is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
Cody Lamar will try to repeat in the winged 360 sprint car feature. The Rio Linda driver earned his second win of his career at Marysville with a dominate 25-lap win back in March. Twenty-nine winged sprint cars swarmed the pit area last time these incredible machines were scheduled.
Courtney Dozier was spectacular during the Super Stock main event two weeks ago. Dozier passed Ryan McDaniel with five laps to go and secured the popular win. The General Jerry Bartlett and James Castleberry will look to park their rigs on the front straight once the dust settles.
Brian Cooper was solid in route to the win during the IMCA Sport Modifieds main event the last time the division was at Marysville. Cooper beat a resilient Bartlett and Jimmy Ford at the finish line. A large group of drivers turned out for the last event held.
The wingless sprints and Pro 4 Sprints make their 2016 point championship debut. Misty Castleberry is the defending champion of the Pro 4 Sprints while Tim Sherman Jr. has been the best in the wingless points the previous two seasons.
