The Time is Now

The Time is Now

(Marysville, CA) 7/27/2016…If you have not been to Marysville Raceway this year, then you are missing out. The high level racing along with the professional of each racing team has pushed our weekly Saturday night show into a can’t miss sporting event. Numerous championship point battles and close knit racing add to the entertainment value for the fans in attendance. For many of our top drivers, this Saturday night is a must win situation. Point race #13 on July 30th will feature five divisions and all the family fun you can stomach.

Adult general admission is $13.00. Senior and junior pricing along with military with I.D. is $10.00. Children just $6.00 and kids five and under are always free. As usual, there is FREE PARKING for every Saturday night event. Front grandstand gate opens at 5 PM. Pit gate for the competitors opens at 3 PM. Racing is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM.

Rio Linda’s Cody Lamar holds a slim four-point edge over Grass Valley’s Jeremy Burt for the winged 360 sprint car track championship. Last week Burt won the race but Lamar came out still holding onto the point lead. The track has average 18 winged sprint cars for its weekly point shows and the competition is as fierce as ever. Adding to the mix is three-time champions Colby Wiesz and Billy Wallace. Five-time track champion Korey Lovell continues to try and get to victory lane in 2016 while Mike Monahan, a former track champion, has parked his familiar #49 in winners circle twice this year.

Josh Vieira continues to fend off two-time and defending track champion Timmy Sherman Jr. Vieira holds a seven-point cushion over Sherman. Peter Paulson, who had two early season wins, is looking to get back into winner’s circle. Track favorite Misty Castleberry continues to dig deep while looking for her first win. Johnny Burns and Brett Youngman are always threats to win the feature event. Brent Steck, fresh off his first ever win last Saturday, will try to double dip this weekend.

It’s a three headed monster in the Super Stock point championship race. Phillip Shelby holds a mere five-point advantage over James Castleberry and eight-points over Cortney Dozier. All three drivers are winners and capable of securing the championship. Castleberry parked his familiar #04 in victory lane last Saturday.

The Dwarfs Cars seem to have found a home at Marysville. Once again the competitive traveling series will descend on the famous Action track. The star power is for real led by Kevin Bender and Shawn Jones along with local favorite Jeremy Blackshire.
Pure stocks will hit the track as the fifth division scheduled for this Saturday night.
