Sport Mods Lead the Charge into Saturday Night
Marysville, CA (May 8, 2017) – The West Coast Sport Mod Tour takes center stage this Saturday night at Marysville Raceway. With over 40 cars expected, this Saturday nights race will feature top drivers from all up and down the West Coast.
The tour is led locally by the Cooper and Bartlett families and last week produced 41 cars in Merced. The race will be a good test for our top Saturday night competitors like Phillip Shelby, Mike Smith, Jeff Bye Jr., Thomas Reynolds and Anthony Doubledee. This race will allow them to size up how good they are when all the out of town drivers show up. Championship point race #5 is shaping up to a big night of racing.
On top of that, the speedway will be recognizing all moms in attendance. This Saturday night, all moms will be admitted for just $9.00. We hope to see a lot of families in attendance taking out their mom to a great night of racing.
The pit gate will open at 3 PM while the front grandstand gate opens at 5 PM. Starting this Saturday, the pit meeting is being moved from 5:30 PM to 5 PM in hopes of getting the competitors on the track earlier for wheel packing and hot laps.
Adult general admission is $13.00 into the grandstands. All moms are just $9.00 tonight. Seniors, juniors and Military with ID are just $10.00 each. Kids, six to eleven years old, are $6.00. Children five and under are FREE. A family pass is available and consists of 2 adult tickets, 2 junior tickets or 3 kid’s tickets for a combined price of $40.00.
Marysville’s Jeremy Hawes continues to lead the winged 360 sprint cars point standings. Bobby Butler won his first career main event Saturday night and should be back to try again. Tyler Seavey is on the verge of winning his first career main event and sits second in points. Mike Monahan, Brad Bumgarner and Korey Lovell are having a spirited battle for third in the points. Raquel and Heath Hall or both on the verge of cracking the top five in points.
Gary Paulson leads the wingless point standings by one point over Cody Spencer.
The popular Dwarf Cars make another return to Marysville. Another large car count is expected and this group always puts on a great show.
Vintage Hardtops are also on the schedule tonight.
