Marysville, CA (July 16, 2015) – A staggering amount of race cars are expected to compete at Marysville Raceway this Saturday night, July 18. Nearly 20 winged 360 sprints are likely to go along with a healthy amount of IMCA Sport Mods, wingless sprints, mini stocks and limited late models.

The pit gate will open at 3 P.M. while the front grandstand gate will open at 5 P.M. Qualifying for the winged sprint cars will begin at 6 P.M. with racing to follow. General grandstand admission to this event is $12.00 for adults, $9.00 for juniors, seniors and military with ID. Children, ages 6 to 11, are $6.00. Five and under are free. Family pass is $30.00 and includes 2 adult tickets and or 2 junior or 3 children tickets. For more information on times and prices please visit www.marysvilleraceway.com/tickets.html

Watsonville’s Justin Sanders is the man to beat in the winged 360 sprint car division. Last Saturday night, Sanders won his fifth main event of the year at Marysville and tenth overall for the season. Yet this Saturday Sanders will have to fend off to new competition is the form of Sacramento’s Justyn Cox, Wilton’s Matt Peterson and Rio Linda’s Scott Hall. Returning cars like Woodland’s Peter Paulson, Grass Valley’s Jeremy Burt, Rio Linda’s Cody Lamar and Chico’s own Brad Bumgarner and Kenny Allen will look to push their way into victory circle. Also, local heroes like the Dozier and Lovell family will continue to field strong cars and great finishes.

Arboga’s Kyle Davey will look to repeat as mini stock winner this Saturday night. Jimmy Ford still leads the championship by just five points over Shaun Merritt. Davey is 13 points back after last Saturday night’s win.

The wingless sprints have been enjoyable to watch this season. Defending champion Tim Sherman Jr. leads Josh Vieira by just five points. Browns Valley champion Misty Castleberry sits in the third spot just eight points back of Sherman. Johnny Burns and Aaron Gustin round out the top five in the points.

After a month hiatus from racing the IMCA Sport Mods will return to action. Howard Law leads this tight knit division back to the track. The IMCA Sport Mods continue to be one of the fan favorites when it comes to on track racing. On any given night there seems to be six to seven drivers capable of winning the main event.

This Saturday night marks the second appearance of the year for the limited late model division. The previous event only drew four cars and the track is hopeful to have more competitors this weekend. Olivehurst’s Ryan McDaniel won the heat race and main event that night.
