Auto Racing Takes Center Stage This Saturday
Marysville, CA – (510-22) …Weekly championship auto racing returns to the Marysville Raceway this Saturday May 14th, as the roar of winged sprint cars, IMCA Sport Mods, and Dwarf Cars will fill the airwaves with monster sized sounds. It has been three weeks since the high speed, mudslinging, rip-roaring winged 360 sprints cars attacked the quarter-mile dirt oval. Add in the close tight racing of the IMCA Sport Mods, and the top Dwarf Cars drivers in Nor Cal, and this will be an event that fans don’t want to miss.
The duel for the top spot in the winged sprint car point lead is as close as it gets. Bobby Butler holds a slim one-point lead over Korey Lovell. Butler has 193 total points, Lovell 192. Third through fifth in points are just separated by six-points. Butler and Michael Wasina are the only two drivers in the top five with main event wins. Defending champion Billy Wallace is lurking in the sixth spot and needs to capitalize every time the Napa Auto Parts 6w hits the track.
The IMCA Sport Mods will race for the fifth time this season on Saturday night. Jimmy Ford, with his one victory, leads the standings. The top four are all in striking distance, just separated by a mere 11-points. The action will continue to be fast and furious when the Sport Mods hit the track.
The popular Dwarf Cars make their return to the Marysville Raceway. The star-studded field of stars and cars are set to entertain the fans. Mike Grenert won the first appearance this season back on March 19th. Except the racing to be close and thrilling this Saturday.
Adult ticket price is just $15.00 (16-61), junior/seniors/military discount with card $13.00, kids $6.00 (3-11) and children 2 and under are FREE. As always, parking is FREE at Marysville Raceway.
