Championship Point Season Opens Saturday Night
Marysville, CA (March 22, 2016)…The loud roar of aggressive fire breathing race cars are set to hit the track this Saturday night, March 26th, at Marysville Raceway. Five divisions are locked in to attack the sticky fast quarter-mile clay oval. This Saturday night kicks off the first of 16 scheduled championship point races. The winged 360 sprints, IMCA sport mods, hobby stocks, super stocks and dwarf cars make up the evenings night of racing activities.
Adult general admission is just $13.00. Juniors, seniors and military with I.D. are $10.00. Children six to eleven are $6.00 and lastly ages five and under are free.
Pit gate for the competitors will open at 3 PM. Front gate opens at 5 PM sharp. Qualifying for the winged sprint cars is scheduled at 6 PM with racing soon to follow. All divisions will run heat races and main events.
This Saturday is an important race for competitors and fans alike as the upcoming two weekends there is no scheduled racing. The next planned racing event at Marysville Raceway will take place April 16th.
Last season the winged 360 sprint car division routinely showcased nearly 20 competitors during point races. Led by Justin Sanders dominating performance last year, this season is wide open. Sander’s has committed to run with the King of the West 410 series. He is scheduled to run a limited schedule at Marysville including this Saturday night. According to his online schedule, NASCAR Truck driver Rico Abreu is planning on racing this Saturday night. Last year, Abreu had the same thoughts, but at the last second things went south and he wasn’t able to make it.
The ever growing popular IMCA sport mods are set to make their second appearance of the season. Back on February 27th, this division joined the Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial race night. This group of drivers and division are about as good as it gets. On track racing is tight, close and exciting.
Hobby stocks, Super Stocks and dwarf cars all have various drivers who support these divisions.
