Chico, CA (July 8, 2019) …. If it wasn’t for the fans of Silver Dollar Speedway and Marysville Raceway, the weekly racing at either track would not exist. Because of you, the fan, we are all able to do what we love to do. So, in honor of them, we will once again offer the cheapest ticket in all of California Motorsports. Just $1 for any aged fan to attend either this upcoming Friday night race at Chico or the Saturday night show at Marysville Raceway.
Friday night, July 12th, the pit gate will open around 4 PM at Silver Dollar Speedway. The front gate will open at 6 PM. All grandstand tickets are just $1. Three divisions will be on hand led by the winged 360 sprints, IMCA Sport Mods and the Hobby Stocks.
Saturday night, July 13th, the pit gate will open at 3 PM at Marysville Raceway. The front grandstand gate will open at 5 PM. All grandstand tickets are just $1. Three divisions are slated to race led by the winged 360 sprints, Hobby Stocks and IMCA Pepsi Sport Mods.
There is a new face leading the winged 360 sprints into Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday night. Young 18-year-old female driver Chelsea Blevins holds a 34-point edge over fellow teenager of Tracy, CA Kyle Offill. However, chiseled veterans like Sean Becker and Andy Forsberg are third and fourth in points. Rookie upstart Angelo Cornett is fifth.
Live Oak’s Matt Micheli is having an amazing year. He leads the points in three different divisions. He is the current point leader of the Street Stocks and IMCA Sport Mods at Silver Dollar Speedway. He also leads the Super Stocks at Marysville Raceway. Micheli and his father Ken, continue to race together at Chico. The Micheli name is synonymous with Champion.
Cherokee’s Kyle Allen continues to dominate the Hobby Stocks at Chico. On July 4th, he picked up his fifth win in a row this season. Will he be able to win six in a row this Friday?
Chico’s Michael Ing continues to dominate the Marysville Raceway sprint car point standings. Ing holds a 51-point lead over former five-time champ Korey Lovell. Mike Monahan, Pat Harvey and Alec Justeson round out the top five.
Jesse Van Roekel is the new point leader of the Hobby Stocks at Marysville Raceway. Even though he is still searching for that first win, his consistency is what has put him at the top. The Hobby Stocks have been a bonus this season with large car counts and exciting main events.
Yuba City champion Todd Cooper continues to lead the way during the IMCA Pepsi Sport Mod series. Cooper leads Grass Valley’s Andrew Peckham by 14-points. Peckham does have three wins.
