MARYSVILLE RACEWAY
(May 10, 2021) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
It’s Go Time Again at Marysville Raceway
After a three-week hiatus, the sights, smells and sounds of grassroots dirt track racing returns to the Action Track of the West, the famed Marysville Raceway. This Saturday night see California’s brightest and best stars as they tackle the torturous high banked quarter-mile clay oval.
Winged 360 sprint cars, Hobby Stocks and the IMCA Pepsi Sport Mods are scheduled for this Saturday, May 15th. Pit gate for the competitors will open at 3 PM. Front grandstand gate will open at 5 PM. Cars will hit the action-packed quarter-mile oval dirt track around 6 PM.
To make things even easier, Marysville Raceway unveiled a new online ticket sale platform for the fans. Please visit our website www.marysvilleraceway.com and then click on the tickets tab. A new page will open and from there you can buy your tickets. Tickets purchased online are $17.00 for adults, $15.00 for juniors and seniors and $8.00 for kids. The $2.00 fee associated with each purchase is included in our advertised price.
With the good news that the grandstands are back open for the families and friends of our competitors, we also want to remind our fans to social distance themselves from other people while at the facility. Masks are recommended to be worn.
Grass Valley’s Billy Wallace has already amassed a huge point lead over veteran racer Pat Harvey. Wallace holds a 53-poiont edge. Third spot is Yuba City’s Kevin Lovell. He sits just two-points behind Harvey.
Howard Law has ruled the Hobby Stocks up to this point. Law holds a 15-point edge over the Beast, Jacob Johnson. Law has won two main events this season. Two-time and defending track champ Jesse Van Roekel sits third.
Jimmy Ford is the top competitor when it comes to IMCA Sport Mod racing at Marysville. Ford is currently five points ahead of Damian Merritt. It is lock tight near the top of the points as third spot Scott Savell, Todd Cooper and Mike Merritt are separated by only one point. This marks the third point race of the season for the Sport Mods.
