Lawrence Wins Race; Chris Warner is Marysville Super Stock Champion

(Marysville, Ca) 9-22-18…Chris Warner dominated the Super Stock championship this season at Marysville Raceway. Once the final checkered flag was waived on the 2018 season Saturday night, Warner held an absurd 106-point advantage over second place finishing James Castleberry.
While Warner won the championship, Brent Lawrence won the 20-lap finale in style. He led every lap in securing the popular win. On the final lap, Richard Vander Ploeg made a daring attempt to pass Lawrence, but, he drifted up the track in turn three and allowed Warner to pass him and finish second. Vender Ploeg regrouped and finished third. James Castleberry battled all night with Warner and ultimately ended up fourth at the line. Bill Hall finished fifth.
Warner won the lone eight lap heat race.
A look at the final point standings see’s Castleberry sneak by Rod Oliver for second overall. Castleberry beat Oliver by just one point. Vander Ploeg secured the fourth spot. Eddie Gardner supported three of the nine point shows and finished fifth.
Winners in 2018 included Warner (2), Oliver (2), Castleberry (1), Gardner (1) Lawrence (1) Steve Hammett (1), Matt Davis (1).
