Point Race #15 presented by Placer Breast Cancer Foundation
(September 3rd, 2015)……….This Saturday marks Point Race #15 at Marysville Raceway for the 2015 season, and is the second to last Point Race of the season for the Winged 360 Sprint Cars. With just two races left heading into this weekend Justin Sanders has all but wrapped up the Track Championship. Sanders holds a commanding 51 Point lead over second place driver Jeremy Burt. With the maximum amount of Points available on any given race night being 55 points, Sanders just needs to increase his Total by four markers Saturday night to clinch the 2015 Marysville Raceway Track Championship. Justin Sanders is among the Winningest drivers in the Country heading into this weekend with 17 wins on the season; 9 of those coming at the Marysville Raceway.
The Wingless Sprint Car battle is one that is far from decided with two races remaining. Reigning Champion Tim Sherman Jr. holds a narrow seven point margin over second place Josh Viera, and nine point margin over third place Misty Castleberry heading into Saturday’s event. One small mistake by any of these drivers could spell disaster, and ruin their championship hopes.
Howard Law leads the way in the Sport Mod class, heading into Saturday’s event with a 21 point lead over second place driver Jimmy Ford. Ford has some work to do if he wants to have a shot at the Championship on Finale night.
Joining the Points paying divisions this Saturday night are the Winged Economy Sprint Cars, which saw Wyatt Brown pick up wins last Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway and again on Saturday at Marysville Raceway. Brown will be back behind the wheel of the Ed Brown Trucking, Burkett’s Automotive #2 this weekend, looking to pick up his third victory in a row.
The fifth and final division scheduled to compete Saturday night are the Pro 4 Sprint Cars. Although this is not a Points Paying division, they do compete on a fairly regular basis at the Speedway. This Season has seen Misty Castleberry find Victory Lane on Four occasions, as well as Three Time Pro 4 Champion Tim Maclaughlin, twice.
Saturday’s event is being sponsored by the Placer Breast Cancer Foundation. The Foundation will have a booth set up with Information regarding what they do and why they exist. They will also be holding a 50/50 raffle along with some other great giveaways. Be sure to wear your Pink to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness. The front gate is scheduled to Open at 5:00pm, with Hot Laps hitting the track at 6:00pm and Qualifying directly following.
