Point Race #2 Set for This Saturday
Marysville, CA (March 26, 2017) – A big night of racing is scheduled for this Saturday night, April 1st, and that is no joke. Marysville Raceway will host point race #2 featuring five predominant divisions led by the IMCA Sport Mods, winged 360 sprints, economy sprints, hobby stocks and the popular Dwarf Cars.
Just two weeks prior, the raceway hosted a successful point night number one. The car count swelled above 50 and the final checkered flag of the night waved before 10 PM. A point of emphasis this year at the raceway is to get the nights racing action over at a decent hour for the families in attendance.
The pit gate is scheduled to open at 3 PM. The front grandstand gate will open at 5 PM. Qualifying for the winged sprint cars is scheduled to start at 6:15 PM. Racing will follow qualifying. Adult ticket price is $13.00. Junior, seniors and military with ID is $10.00. Kids are $6.00 and those five and under are FREE.

The raceway has hosted some great events leading up to this Saturday night. The General Jerry Bartlett won an exciting IMCA Sport Mod main over Howard Law. Both men have larger than life personalities and give the fans a show that you don’t want to miss. Mike Merritt, Jason Ferguson and Phillip Shelby are drivers who know how to win and have a shot at parking their car in victory lane Saturday night.
The winged sprint cars will be led by Oroville’s Heath Hall, Chico’s Brad Bumgarner and Colfax’s Cobly Wiesz.
The hobby stock division saw a resurgence with over 10 cars competing for the win during the opening night race. Brian Compton dominated the event.
The Economy Sprints will make their debut Saturday night.
The Dwarf Car division provides great entertaining racing and usually a high car count. Look for these guys to put on a great show.
