Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial Kicks off 2020 Racing Season at Marysville Raceway
(Marysville, CA 2/24/20) …For race car drivers and fans of the high speeds and thrills of grassroots dirt track racing, the wait is over. This Saturday, the familiar sights and sounds will come back to life at the Marysville Raceway. The track is happy to host the popular Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial to kick start the 2020 racing season.
Three divisions will entertain the grandstand crowd led by the popular winged 360 sprint cars. The winner of the nights main event will pocket $2,000. Keeping with the theme of sprints, the wingless sprints and Crate sprint cars are also scheduled for this Saturday, February 29.
Due to the race being scheduled in February, the track will accommodate the drivers and fans with special start times to avoid staying out in the cold too long. The Toller Twilight show will jump start activities around the racetrack about an hour earlier than normal.
Pit gate for the competitors will open at 1 PM. Front grandstand gate will open at 4 PM. Qualifying set to start around 4:30 PM with racing slated for a 5 PM start time.
Grandstand pricing is as follows; adults $17.00, juniors & seniors $14.00, kids 6-11 $6.00 and children five and under are FREE. As always, parking is FREE to the race fans.
Sherm and Loree Toller were long time employees of the Marysville Raceway. Sherm was often heard over the public address system doing on track interviews. He was also an ambassador for dirt track racing in general. His love and dedication to our sport was second to none. Behind a great man who loves motorsports, there is usually an even better woman supporting him. Loree also loved to be at the track. Loree became a long-time scorekeeper in the booth at Marysville Raceway. In fact, even after Sherm passed away, Loree continued to work at the track. Sherm and Loree passed down their love and passion for dirt track racing to their daughters, Sheree and Kaylee, who continue to not only support this event, but are seen numerous times throughout the year at dirt track races.
The track will generate a roster of expected drivers later this week. We are going to inquire through social media outlets and hope to have some positive feedback by Thursday.
More information about the track can be found on-line at www.marysvilleraceway.com or by calling (530) 350 – 7275.
