Tribute to Gold Cup This Wednesday Night
Tribute to Gold Cup at Marysville
(Marysville, CA 9/5/20)…When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When this years Gold Cup was postponed until 2021, it left a void for die hard sprint car drivers and fans looking for something to do. With the success of racing during the mid-week, Marysville Raceway decided to add a special event called A Tribute to Gold Cup. This race is set for Wednesday September 9th. It will feature winged 360 sprint cars and Hobby Stocks. With the support from Flo Racing, both divisions will race for a normal weekly purse.
The Raceway is also offering a sweet deal for Gold Cup fans. The first 100 fans who can produce a current WEDNESDAY night Gold Cup ticket, will get free admission to this night’s event at Marysville. Those fans who have those tickets, will be put in line, and let into the grandstands at 5:45 PM. Once those fans are through, if there are still seats to be had, tickets will be sold to the fans who are at the races and want to watch. We will cut off the grandstands once the combined 100-person quota has been met between Gold Cup Wednesday night (FREE ADMISSION) and paying customers. We want to emphasize the Gold Cup theme for this Wednesday night. Fans are encouraged to wear a Gold Cup shirt in support of the long-standing event.
Pit gate for the competitors will open at the normal time, 3 PM. No in and out privileges will be allowed as the gates will be closed to all but exiting spectators. Social distancing will be required, and fans should have a face mask. If you do not have a Wednesday night Gold Cup ticket to show at the gate then Adult tickets are $17, Junior and Senior $14 and kids $6.
For those fans not able to attend but still want to support the track, please visit www.floracing.com and purchase a subscription to their website. All Marysville Raceway events are broadcast live on Flo Racing.
Because of the popularity from previous races, this Wednesday, both Silver Dollar Speedway and Marysville Raceway t-shirts will be for sale at the Novelty Booth. Only a limited amount remains.
Both the winged sprint cars and hobby stocks have produced huge car counts and exciting racing all season long at Marysville. For the sprint car crowd, this will be the last chance to see this division until October 31st!
